Los Punjab adhieren a la marcha mundial

Punjab Peace and Nonviolence Football Cup

The Final of the Punjab Peace and Nonviolence Football Cup in Lahore, Pakistan, was held on 15th Sept, 2009. It is another major activity of Pakistan Humanist Movement before the World March begining.

The Punjab Football Association has adhered to the goals of the world march and organised, from August 30th to September 15th, the Peace and Nonviolence football cup.

28 Teams have participated at the tournament in the Punjab football stadium, Lahore. Reader Football Club was the winner and real Lahore Football Club was the runner.

The idea was the brainchild of some humanists activists that started a program of education in nonviolence through sport called "Stop Violence - play football".

Dr.Ted Redden, Advisor Unicef, Dr.Faiz Shah, Team Leader, GTZ (Germna Technical Cooperation) GOPA, Pakistan, Mr. Abdul Rauf, Member Provincial Assembly, Mr. Ahmad Yaar Khan Lodhi, Secretary General, Pakistan Football Federation, Agha Latif, Secretary General, Punjab Football Association, Anees Ahmad Khan Lodhi, President Lahore Football Association, Irshad Mughal, Chairman, Iraj Education and Development Foundation, Mr. Rizwan, President, Model Town Football Academy and Club were key guests of the final.
